West Ridge Home

A large 4 bedroom, multi level home that is both luxurious and simple, West Ridge Home is set on a prominent west facing site above the Knysna River. The challenge of the site provided an interesting design solution which resulted in a series of protected courtyards as the building stepped down the slope allowed north light into every room.  The deliberate use of horizontal concrete elements created a less imposing structure on the slope. There was no compromise in terms of views.

The living level courtyard and the covered deck form a seamless connection between formal and informal living. As a result the owners can connect to sun, views and pool while avoiding unpleasant breezes.
